Hi,

Do we have the resources to put forward MEP candidates?

Do we have members wanting to and able to stand as a  MEP ? is there any point?

I doubt that we have the capacity to stand in European elections at the moment and I believe it will cost 5k to stand in them. A big chunk of money.

My my main concern is if we aren’t standing who do we back ? I don’t fancy UKIP, staggeringly arrogant in my area so for me it will have to be the Brexit Party.

Anyone else have have any thoughts ?

The cost of Euro elections is prohibitive unless you have deep pockets.

there are several of us who would happily put our names forward - but campaigning seriously requires people who have no ties to any other work. Most cannot do it.

The expense is a pity because we would certainly get our name out there if we ran a slate of, say, 5 London candidates. The media would notice it.

however, I think we really need to put our effort into council elections and seek to get a couple of councillors at least.

I believe you have more than one vote and if so use all your votes for pro BrExit parties/people.

At this stage I really don't think we should, there are a number of reasons I think this:

1. The cost

2. What for? as the time spent running would be for nothing as the PM could still take us out before you could take your seat if you got elected. (tho I can't see us leaving anytime soon)

3. The Brexit party seems to be sweeping the nation, and it seems that a very high percentage of pro brexit supporters will be voting for them due to it's leader.

4. I feel we should concentrate on the local council elections and hopefully get a number of members into a few local councils throughout the nation and help within our communities and this I feel will get our party name out there. As they will see our party at work and achieing what the people voted for in their local communty.

I agree with Glyn
our party isn’t financially able to field enough candidates to have an impact but we can thrown our weight behind the Brexit Party in the EU elections.

Has anybody spoken to NIgel and asked if he would be interested in an amalgamation of sorts?

Brexit is the most important issue right now. The Brexit Party is the only party making a clear stance that doesn’t embrace a hard right wing stance. However, I think the DVP has to provide a clear view of what is its stance. No fudging please.

I total rage we should suppot th Brexit party during the EU elesctions and for paty members that live in Northern Ireland we should back the TUV Party, as the Brexit party has no representatives there.

The TUV are the Traditonal Unionist Voice a pro brexti party lead by Jim Allister. TheTUV was formed in December 2007 to give voice to Traditional Unionists throughout Northern Ireland who reject unrepentant terrorists at the heart of government and who feel betrayed by those who ushered them into government.

From the comments so far on the European elections, I'm getting a strong indication that the majority of us support the Brexit Party. I'll be very surprised if we have a Brexit candidate of any political persuasion down her in West Devon as this area is blinkered beyond the Tory or (unbelievably) the Liberal Democrats and, voted remain in the referendum. . As a local farmer once told me : "You could paint a sheep blue down yer, and the silly buggers would vote for it".  If we do have a Brexit Party candidate I'll be voting for them. If not, I'll spoil my ballot paper by drawing a cock'n'balls on it.  Please forgive my vulgarity on this occasion, but I'm bloody well seething at the way we are being betrayed by the present politicians.

In my opinion if I am faced with any choices on voting of any type.

My first bet would have been DVParty (but as JRE has posted we should stand shoulder to shoulder with brexit party.)
If you have no brexit party, try ukip then any party or person who backs brexit full on, not just a "get a vote say" look for a proven record of brexit fighting
If you have non of the above I believe a vote  from taken away  Tory/ labour  would be my next choice.
While it might not be a brexit backed party it's a vote taken away from tory/labour.

Please do not draw a cock and ball on your paper as that will be discarded but if you write on your paper 'non of the above' if there is sufficient of these papers returned with that statement then they will be counted and not just as a spoiled voting slips..Tell your friends that is the way to do it.

Reply to Steve Don3329.. Ha-ha.. Thanks Steve.. I was only joking about the cock'n'balls.. I have voted today, and indeed, I have written "none of the above" on my ballot paper.  If we don't have any Brexit Party or UKIP candidate for the European elections (should they happen), I'll be doing the same.  There is a campaign being driven by Unity News Network to promote not voting for Tory, Labour or Liberal Democrats  in any forthcoming elections (including the next general election) and I'm 100% for this strategy.. The swamp needs draining !

HI Pete, I was kinda hoping you were joking but hey! you just never know....lol What I can not get my hat on with, is the braindead people who ave voted for the Lib Dems?? They are saying it was the only choices Lib, Lab or Con so why did they not draw a cock and balls?? Go Figure!
Never mind the truth will come out at the european elections, if lab and con thought they took a kicking last night, I for one can't wait to see their faces after that vote..

Congratulation to ALL our candidates. One year on from being a new party on the block and we have seats! And some amazing also ran seats building for the next fight. Proud of you all.
saw some BBC coverage online where so many spoiled ballots with Brexit, None of the Above Traitors and, yes a crude picture of the male privates drawn on one, all showing the electorate’s contempt for the government’s refusal to BREXIT. Brilliant.
